Meet Stephanie (she/her)

Hi, I'm Stephanie. If you've landed on this page, you're intrigued and wanting to know more. Me too.

So as for me, I’m a passionately curious psych nerd absolutely fascinated by the brain. Trauma is my thing which I know, sounds weird, but don’t leave the page just yet. The reason I love working with trauma so much is because the treatments really do work. I’ve witnessed time and time again a horrific event (or events) take everything from someone, leaving them feeling exhausted and hopeless. The treatments are structured and short term because they target exactly what keeps trauma symptoms alive. Together, we can get back your feelings of competence, confidence and control. I’ve seen it.

My style

We will work together in a laid back, causal environment where you can feel comfortable and free of judgement. I’ve been known to let a few choice words fly, but I’m genuine, honest and here to push you (gently, of course) out of your comfort zone so that true progress can be made. I know if I’m not real, I can’t expect you to be either.

The formal stuff

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (License #7717). I received my B.S. in Psychology from the College of Charleston followed by my M.A. in Clinical Counseling at The Citadel Graduate College.

I have worked exclusively with military trauma survivors both active duty and veteran status at the VA since 2015. I have had rigorous training and supervision in Prolonged Exposure Therapy from internationally-renowned experts in the field including Dr. Edna Foa.
